Mint project team worked with Le Fresnoy
The Mint project team has worked with artist Alexandre Maubert on a work entitled Monade. The piece was shown at the Panorama exhibition hosted by the Le Fresnoy Studio National d'Art Contemporain from 9 June to 24 July and uses gesture detection and virtual reality.

Jacques Neveu Prize
Sébastien Bubeck, winner of the Jacques Neveu Prize
After being designated runner-up for the Gilles Kahn Prize, Sébastien Bubeck has been awarded the Jacques Neveu Prize for his PhD dissertation Bandits Games and Clustering Foundations (jointly supervised by Rémi Munos from the Sequel Inria research team and Cristina Butucea, a professor at Paul Painlevé Laboratory at the University of Lille 1).
This prize is awarded to a thesis in probability or statistics.

2010 thesis prize
Biometrics thesis prize
Gene expression data currently represent an essential challenge in both human and animal genetics. The statistical analysis of these data represent a key point for their biological interpretation. Guillemette Marot, lecturer in a chair position between Université Lille 2 and the Inria Lille - Nord Europe research centre, addressed this issue during her thesis. Her work was awarded the 2010 prize for best biometrics thesis on 18 November.

eGo Technology
Gemalto, world leader in digital security, has developed eGo, a system where the user’s body becomes a medium of communication. Thus, a simple touch is all that is required to open a door, make an electronic payment or start up a computer. This European research project, called Eureka, includes, among others, Atos Origin, Continental, St Microelectronics and the POPS research team at the Inria Lille - Nord Europe research centre.

MSR is a French language conference within the general sphere of modelling, analysis and control of reactive systems in real time.
