Seminar
Maritime surveillance using panchromatic optical satellite images
Maritime surveillance is currently a key issue in the field of safety and the economy.

We will present a method that draws on standard Bayesian detection techniques. Detection is broken down into three stages. The first consists of the pre-detection of targets, providing us with candidate targets. The second stage involves a precise segmentation of each candidate target.
The third and final stage involves classifying the candidates into three classes: small vessels, large vessels and false alarms. To complement this study and place the subject matter within an industrial and operational context, we will present experiments running the entire algorithm on complete images in order to evaluate performances and processing time.
