fOSSa conference 2012, origins of open source
Inria & EuraTechnologies are happy to announce you the fOSSa 2012 Edition! fOSSa conference will take place on the 4, 5, 6th December 2012 in Lille, France, nearby London, Paris and Brussels.
Thanks to the quality of our speakers & attendees, thanks to our open & pragmatic approach, more than 250 people came each year; more than 100 articles in the press & webzines talk positively about the conference content... fOSSa conference is playing a predominant role in the OSS arena year after year.
This year, the conference will address:
- Research & Innovation,
- fOSSarcheology - History of the Free Software/Open Source movement,
- Movie Revolution OS,
- Digital Native Generation, Openness,
- Open Arts & Open Hardware,
- Community management,
- Workshops. (Many code developement training sessions are scheduled -> Gnome, Mozilla, LibreOffice, Pharo, SpagoBI, ROS framework, Elgg & Social Network Usages, etc.)
"What marks the difference between fOSSa and other events is the air that you breath there. An event organized by passionate people, with passionate attendees as well … and great speakers. Every year you can get some presentations of greater international events in advance (I remember the year of Arduino, to give you an example).”
Gabriele Ruffatti - SpagoWorld Blog 2012.
This year fOSSa welcomes various well-known free and open source software figures such as Tristan Nitot (Mozilla Europe), Laurent Chemla (digital activiste), Colin de la Higuera (SIF), Stephane Grumbach (Inria), Alexis Kauffmann et Christophe Masutti (FramaSoft), Laurent Grisoni (Inria), Hugobiwan Zolnir (digital artist), Roberto Di Cosmo (IRILL), Mark Atwood (Open Stack, HP), Dave Neary (RedHat), Sebastien Heyman (Gephi), Joanmarie Diggs (Gnome), Scott Wilson (Apache), Dan Shearer (Edinburg Academy), Andrew Katz (Moorcrofts).
