The WAM project team presents a system for navigation in augmented reality, developed to guide the blind and partially sighted in inside and/or outside environments, on 4 November 2010, from 7pm to 9pm, at Cité Internationale - Centre de Congrès, Lyon.

  • Date : 4/11/2010
  • Place : Cité internationale - Centre de Congrès, Lyon
  • Organisers : W3C

A "smartphone" equipped with embedded position sensors can be used for 3D audio guiding of the blind or partially sighted inside a building or in an outside environment. The system is based on an OpenStreetMap description of the environment. The system has been developed by the WAM project team as part of the Minalogic Autonomy project.

This demonstration is presented in conjunction with a W3C Public Meetup.
