Efficient Probabilistic Approximations of Biopathways Dynamics

Systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are often used to model bio-chemical networks. Such systems are very difficult to nalyze. To address this, we constructed a method for approximating the dynamics of an ODEs system as a Dynamic Bayesian Network (DBN).Subsequently, pathway properties can be analyzed through Bayesian inference techniques instead of resorting to ODE simulations. We shall explain the basic features of our technique, present a realistic case study and discuss an efficient GPUs based implementation of our method.
